CANCELLED Recital – Peter Jancewicz and Friends, Nov. 10, 2018

Due to medical reasons, this recital has been cancelled. We hope to present this program in the fall of 2019.

MRU Conservatory presents composer/pianist Peter Jancewicz in recital with violinist Frank Ho and pianist Susan Hlasny. The program will include the premiere of Peter’s “Sonata for Violin and Piano”, a dramatic three-movement work inspired by the conflict, sorrow, and hope for resolution and peace that is so much a part of life.

In addition, Susan and Peter will play his piano duet “Red Coat”, a piece in three movements drawing on the blues, film noir, minimalism, and an hommage to Keith Jarrett. Rounding out the program will be the Violin Sonata by Aaron Copland, written in 1943, and some lovely music for violin and piano by Mozart: the Adagio in E K261 and the Rondo in G K. 250.

7:30 p.m. in the TransAlta Pavilion

The Taylor Centre for the Performing Arts
Mount Royal University
*Tickets by donation
The program will be repeated in Edmonton on November 24th, 730 PM, Muttart Hall at MacEwan University with a change in program: I will play two solo pieces, Evening Rain and the Baetica Variations instead of Red Coat.
